Whidbey General Hospital

Congestive Heart Failure

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) does not mean your heart has stopped. CHF happens when the heart is unable to provide the pump action required to maintain the blood flow that the body needs. If you have been diagnosed with CHF, Whidbey General's Life Center offers free classes to empower you and help you create balance in your life.
Kim Arends, RNLearn about the many lifestyle changes that can reduce complications of CHF and potentially reduce hospital readmissions.

We will provide you with the necessary knowledge to make informed choices about diet, activity, medication compliance and symptom monitoring.

Class is free of charge.

Classes are by appointment only. Kim Arends, BSN, RN (left) will present the program every Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Whidbey General throughout the remainder of 2013.

See our complete CHF class schedule here.

Please bring your CHF booklet and your medications. This informative class is tailored to meet your personal needs regarding heart health. It is open to those with congestive heart failure or with a history of cardiac disease. Family members and/or support persons are also welcomed to attend.
