Cardiac Wellness

Cardiac Wellness, formerly known as Cardiac Rehab, is a secondary prevention program that educates people about reducing the risk of future cardiac events through exercise, nutrition and heart healthy information.

Cardiac Wellness Cardiac Wellness is typically provided after a heart attack, open-heart surgery, stent placement or diagnosis of stable angina (chest pains). Additional diagnoses apply based on individual insurance plans.

The Cardiac Wellness area is staffed by registered nurses and by an exercise physiologist.

A staff member works with you to create a plan based on your goals. You must commit to working on this care plan three days per week. The plan may be between four weeks and three months in length, depending on your goals and the progress you make toward your goals.

Education is a part of each session and is presented in various ways to appeal to different types of learners.

Individuals and family members express improved confidence after attending these sessions. By working together as a team, the changes made can last a lifetime.
