Benjamin T. Hu MD

Board-certified urologist Benjamin Hu, MD, provides comprehensive care for medical conditions affecting male reproductive organs and male and female urinary tracts. He specializes in minimally invasive and non-invasive surgical techniques, as well as the non-surgical management of urological diseases. Among other care provided, Dr. Hu treats kidney stones with shock wave lithotripsy and uses prostate seed implant brachytherapy to treat prostate cancer. His referral network serves patients requiring more specialized surgery or radiation treatments. Dr. Hu joined our medical staff in 1991 and is a member of the Cancer Committee, a multi-disciplinary team that advances high quality cancer care at Whidbey General.

Scope of Care

  • Urinary tract stones
  • Cancers of the kidney, adrenal gland, prostate, urinary bladder, testes, penis and scrotum
  • Infections of the urinary tract, sexually transmitted diseases and chronic disorders such as interstitial cystitis and prostatitis
  • Female and male urinary incontinence or urinary leakage problems
  • Sexual dysfunction including erectile dysfunction or impotence
  • Male family planning services including no-scalpel vasectomy
  • Management and prevention of complications of neurogenic bladder associated with neurologic disease or spinal cord injury
  • Female pelvic floor reconstruction including vaginal prolapse and bladder repairs
