This free, interactive session provides an introduction to advance care planning. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about medical decisions they may face in the future and discuss how to talk about these issues with health care providers and loved ones.

Beyond Advanced Directives provides an overview of advance care planning, which involves reflecting on and discussing preferences for future medical care, including end of life decisions.

This free program is presented by Carla Jolley, ARNP (left), an advanced practice nurse at Whidbey General with a specialty in cancer and palliative care and David Bieniek (right), chaplain for the hospital's Home Health & Hospice Department.

    • What kind of decisions we face at end of life
    • How to talk about a serious illness facing your loved one

Attendees are encouraged to bring their current advance directives to this session. Sample advance directive forms will be available.
