Beyond Advanced Directives provides an overview of advance care planning, which involves reflecting on and discussing preferences for future medical care, including end of life decisions.
This free program is presented by Carla Jolley, ARNP (left), an advanced practice nurse at Whidbey General with a specialty in cancer and palliative care and David Bieniek (right), chaplain for the hospital's Home Health & Hospice Department.
- What is advance care planning?
- The different advance care directives and resources available
- What kind of decisions we face at end of life
- How to talk about a serious illness facing your loved one
Attendees are encouraged to bring their current advance directives to this session. Sample advance directive forms will be available.
